CranioSacral Therapy

The craniosacral system extends form the skull, or cranium, down to the tailbone, or sacrum. It includes the soft tissues that protect the brain, nerves and spinal column. CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch approach that relieves pain and dysfunction, while improving whole-body health and performance. This gentle therapy is effective for all ages, from newborns to elders.

CranioSacral Therapy can create dramatic improvements in health. Few body systems have more impact on the central nervous system than the craniosacral system. Every day the body endures and absorbs stresses and strains. The body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten with restrictions, potentially affecting the brain, spinal column and nerve health. This compromises the function the performance of every other body system.

CranioSacral Therapy releases deep tensions to allow the entire body to relax and self-correct. This frees the central nervous system to perform at its best while naturally eliminating pain and stress. It also serves to strengthen the immune system as well as improves overall health and well-being.

CranioSacral Therapy was developed by Dr. John E. Upledger, an osteopathic physician featured in TIME Magazine as one of America's next wave of innovators. Dr. Upledger was a professor of biomechanics at the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University from 1975 to 1983. It was there that he developed the basis of CranioSacral therapy with a team of anatomists, physiologists, biophysicists, and bioengineers who performed and published the clinical research.

CST can be a great compliment to homeopathic care. Adrienne has found that a remedy can open the body to more easily release restrictions. These seem to just 'melt away' when the body is under the action of an appropriate remedy. Adrienne recommends this two pronged approach to healing for the maximum benefit from each modality.
